As part of the coverage couple’s FAQ series, we’ll be answering the question “Does The Coverage Couple offer Major Medical Health Insurance, or Medicare advice or policies”?
Not only do we provide consultations and guidance on major medical insurance at thecoveragecouple.com, we’ve been doing it literally since day-1 of the Affordable Care Act! In fact, our career in the industry was founded on beginnings in health insurance. In order to advise and operate within the government’s health marketplace, you must secure another layer of specialized licensing and education every year, which of course we have. As the major medical environment has changed since it was signed into law back in 2010, the most interesting update developed recently between 2019 and 2020 that removed the penalty for not privately purchasing health insurance if your employer didn’t offer it.
It was kind of congress not to force us to choose between one of 2 penalties, after a decade of making sure our papers were in order. It’s a bummer though, that after nearly 11 years of forced health insurance coverage, the law is revised months before a so-called public health crisis breaks out across the face of the earth, costing trillions in healthcare the government no longer has to subsidize…almost like they knew something was coming.
Something to keep in mind is that major medical and medicare plans are all region specific. Every year a map is released showing the new coverage areas for carriers opting in and plans available, which ends up looking like some wireless reception map of splotchy pixels. The reason why this is important is two-fold: (1) Many advisors aren’t up to date on the current medical map territories for coverage options (at thecoveragecouple.com, we’re always aware). And (2), every year for nearly twelve years, the medical policies, companies, options, and PRICES change like clockwork. There’s never been a single plan or program that hasn’t changed from one year to the next (including drastic price-hikes). Because of that it’s always in your best interest to get a current and FULL view of what’s available to you each year, so you can make an informed choice. We have resources and tools to fully research your specific medications, doctors, facilities, and specialists to make SURE they’re in your network BEFORE hand.
As always at The Coverage Couple, we don’t follow the philosophy of more options is better JUST for life insurance and investments, but for major medical health insurance and medicare programs as well. Something else to note is that although Medicare’s annual enrollment period, or what’s often called “AEP,” starts on October 15th every fall, many of their supplemental, prescription, and gap plans are available for review and conversion ALL year long. The reason I bring that up is because you’ll always do yourself a service to re-review what you currently have, and let us do the legwork for you to see if a more fitting solution exists for you in the marketplace!
We commit to conducting deep investigative research for you, and would like for you to reserve time with us, without any cost or obligation. We’ll carefully listen, and then follow up with a proven, practical, custom proposal for your review. HERE is our official invitation to take part in The Coverage Couple Challenge, where EVERYONE WINS. Visit the Scheduling Page at thecoveragecouple.com to see how much we can save you on your existing coverage, or provide a financial risk assessment and needs analysis for your review if you’re unprotected and univested.
