As part of the coverage couple’s FAQ series, we’ll be answering the question “How long does a consultation take on the coverage couple”?
Consultation with The Coverage Couple?
This is an easy one to answer, because it all comes down to you. Our consultations are client-focused, and therefore client-driven. What that means is while we have a proven process ensuring we gather your necessary info quickly (in less than 10-minutes actually), the remainder of the consultation is reserved for client or family questions. Like any good doctor, lawyer, or insurance and investment advisor, we invest time upfront establishing a working knowledge and relationship with you.
That foundation is crucial, because as with most things, there’s never a set-it-and-forget-it solution that’s able to adapt and pivot with the unknowns of life. Since your future is always developing, establishing that baseline of understanding is irreplaceable in moving forward successfully. By contrast, if you’ve ever been involved in one extreme or the other in terms of devotion of time from an advisor, you’ll know what we’re talking about (and it’s not always good)!
Some agents obsess over ‘closing the deal’ in a matter of moments, like it’s a drive-thru order screen. Other agents will call you, text you, email you, and literally show up uninvited to hold you hostage in your own home until you buy whatever they’re selling. One of the reasons some agents basically move-in to your spare room during their presentation, is because they’re doing far more talking, than listening. This is the dead giveaway of someone who is operating in their own interest (NOT yours). At TCC we never host a consultation with a predetermined notion of what you need, before we listen to what you want. It’s a bummer, but there are tons of companies out there that operate by churning through customers as quickly as they do agents/employees…and in the end no one but the executives reap any benefit.
The biggest failure built-in to the old-school — and frankly annoying — method of selling insurance and investments, is just that… SELLING. What I mean is that those agents have a limited time-table and an unlimited expectation by their managers, to sell as much as quickly as possible to meet arbitrary quotas. Alternatively, at TCC we’ve developed several of our operational practices to AVOID problems plaguing the industry as a whole. The result is we’re happy with our clients and our clients are happy with us!
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Sarah and I never expect or request a commitment during the first consultation. We do this for several reasons, not the least of which is so you have the necessary time to decompress and process the information we share, and in turn provide ample time for Sarah and I to conduct research into every carrier to make SURE our proposal is as perfect as it is personalized.
We commit to conducting deep investigative research for you, and would like for you to reserve time with us, without any cost or obligation. We’ll carefully listen, and then follow up with a proven, practical, custom proposal for your review. HERE is our official invitation to take part in The Coverage Couple Challenge, where EVERYONE WINS. Visit the Scheduling Page at thecoveragecouple.com to see how much we can save you on your existing coverage, or provide a financial risk assessment and needs analysis for your review if you’re unprotected and univested. We hope to hear from you soon, because your life is worth the investment! -Aaron & Sarah, The Coverage Couple
